Karaoke (plus Odes to the Bathroom Line) from P:CMOR2010 on Ravelry

Yesterday
When there was a bathroom not so far away
I could sit still and stitch all day
Oh, I remember yesterday.

Suddenly
All I can think is “I got to pee”
There’s a long line stretchin’ out ahead of me
I may just have to use a tree.

Why I
waited so long to join the line, I don’t know.
OooOooOoooh…
Somethings sure to go wrong and I long for yesterday.

Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm.

Well, that’ what my pee-occupied brain heard over in the bathroom line.

I feel a song coming on….

I got here on a Monday and my heart stood still
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run
Had to find the potty ‘cause I drank my fill
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Yeah, I drank my fill
Yeah, this line’s making me ill
Ooh, will I ever get to the stall
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Had a cup of tea about quarter to nine
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run
Another at elevensies, I was feeling fine
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Yeah, I was feeling fine
Yeah, now I’m at the end of the line
Ooh, will I ever get to the stall
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Thought I knew what I was doing when I had that wine
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run
Never had such trouble from a taste of the vine
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Yeah, the wine was grand
Yeah, wish I could use the can
Ooh, will I ever get to the stall
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Back around seven the beer was chilled
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run
The keg is now empty and I’m not so thrilled
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Yeah, I drank my fill
Yeah, this line’s making me ill
Ooh, will I ever get to the stall
Da do run-run-run, da do run-run

Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah…

Been way too long without a song…My ode to Ravelry (sung to the tune FAME- a bow to your celebrity status!)

Ravlers look and see
That shawl and that little bee
Wonderful things to make it’s all here
What’s a stitcher going to do but cheer?

Could there be anything better than
Having a place to share all our plans?
To cry and laugh and be who we are.
Don’t you know you’re all stars?

Chorus:
Stitchers proclaim!
(Rav!)
I’m gonna hook forever
I’m gonna learn how to knit
This C/KAL is coming together
I’m gonna stitch and not quit
(Rav!)
This place is my earthly heaven
Projects are all on parade
Spun, knit, hooked or handwoven
Affectionately all are handmade.

Ravlers build those queues.
Sock, lace and worsted weight, too.
Keep that stash filled up to the top;
Silk, cotton, wool, and mohair-y fluff.

One skein, room full of yarn.
Some have enough to fill a barn.
For whatever your fiber heart yearns
You know Rav’s where to turn.

Chorus

(Fame/Irene Cara)

Another ditty for the privy…***

Well tonight if you need to use the john
Your number is ten thousand and one
It’s a long, long line and it goes on for miles and miles.
I don’t know who’s first
But I’m number seven hundred and nine.

When you look down the line in the morning you’ll see
It stretches on to infinite
And thousands of Ravlers dancin’ and jiggin’ ‘round.
I don’t know who’s first
But I’m number seven hundred and nine.

Where’s that leaking pipe
Wish I knew
It’s been dripping all day long.
Now I really gotta go and
Whatever you do
Don’t start singing Orinoco Flow-oh

I can picture how I’ll feel when I make it there
And get to sit on that wonderful chair.
What would I do to be (doing?) #1 tonight?
I don’t know who’s first
But I’m still seven hundred and nine.

Who’s that keening there
I wish I knew
She’s driving me round the bend.
Now I really gotta go and
Whatever you do
Don’t start singing Waterloo-ooo-ooo-ooooooo-ooo

So tonight if you turn your radio on
You might hear a happy song
About someone who made it to the start of the line.
Don’t know who they are
‘cause I’m still seven hundred and nine.

You may think of me
But I’m still number seven hundred and nine.

Been in line for the bathroom
For so very long now.
Will I ever make it to the toilet
Or is it time to visit with the cow?

Been in line for the lavatory
This rest room isn’t very calm.
Will I ever get to use the water closet
Or should I offer up a psalm?

Been in line for the latrine
Am getting no comfort from this station.
Will I ever get to the ladies
Or am I doomed to stay in formation?

Been in line for the washroom
It’s getting quiet could that be a sign?
Will I finally be number one
Or shall I use the plant and take the fine?

Been in line for the commode
It’s harder and harder to stand still.
Will there be TP in the WC
Or are corn cobs gonna be an acquired skill?

Been in line in this powder room
Wishing we could move along.
Will I ever get to the privy
Or is it time to sing another song?

I apologize to all of you in the bathroom line for singing about rain.

Perhaps…

Though the bathroom line is long and stretches for miles
Your turn soon will come and you can smile
So if you’re waiting, chin up my friend
Because it isn’t really all that long, you know, it’s just around the bend.
And where you see crowds further down the line
You soon will see yourself washing up and feeling fine
So keep on stitching, singing, smiling, and bravely holding on
Whenever bathroom lines become too long.

(April Showers/Al Jolson)

Well, we’ll miss you. Hope you have a nice visit. If you pass through Leesburg, say “Hi!” to my folks for me. ;-D

…it’s a bit early but to send you off on that jet plane…

All the yarn is stashed, the CALs are now done
Finally been to the loo; the mystery was fun
It’s soon April and time to say goodbye.
But the dawn is breaking this early morn
The carpenters are here
to board up the door
It’s hard to leave might just break down and cry.

NatCroMO is over now
Time to find another CAL
See you elsewhere on Ravelry
Leaving the party behind
So nice to have shared the wine
Next March will be here soon
The time will fly

Sang our last song, the mike’s packed away
There’ll be time to sing on another day
Plenty of time to practice Karaoke
11 months from now we’ll do it again
Try new stitches and make new friends
Share the mike and stand in line again

NatCroMO is over now
Time to find another CAL
See you elsewhere on Ravelry
Leaving the party behind
So nice to have shared the wine
Next March will be here soon
The time will fly

sorry, can't get the cadence quite right...just have a martini and sing it again...it will sound just fine!

Okay. One for the road…

I went to a crochet party to stitch and find new friends,
A chance to create a few memories, sing familiar songs again.
When I got to the crochet party, there was a line a mile long,
Stretching out of the loo, something was dreadfully wrong.

But it’s all right now, scrabbler7 got the call.
You see, she shared her lov’ly birthday present; it was another stall.

People from all around-all around the world,
Singing karaoke and drinking beer, lots of yarn unfurled.
Dusty introduced her Sassy, Gypsy Dancer showed us her beautiful pots;
We had a good time we joked and teased and learned an awful lot.

But it’s all right now, Kaet was our mystery chief
You ask, is the CAL a handkerchief, or a bas-relief?

lott-in-dah-dah-dah, lot-in-dah-dah-dah

It’s time to go so no more songs, the lights are turning low.
What will we do if we’re not here, where will we go?
Best be off to another CAL, it just won’t be the same.
Hey, Bonnie0128 has an idea, guess it’s not the end of the game.

But it’s all right now, we shant be far away
You see, there’s COR & Art of Notions, where, we can chat another day.

lott-in-dah-dah-dah, lot-in-dah-dah-dah

But it’s all right now, scrabbler7 got the brief.
You see, the carpenters gave her a gift, and we all sighed in relief.

lot-dah-dah-dah (lot-dah-dah-dah)
lot-in-dah-dah-dah

It’s been grand, everyone!
