Here Comes the Sun Motif

Gauge is not important in this pattern.
Size depends on the yarn and hook used. The sample was made with Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton with a 5.0mm hook and measures approximately 5″ across.

Special Stitches
V-Stitch: DC, ch1, DC.

Pattern instructions
Start with an adjustable loop or chain 5 and join by slip stitching in 1st chain to form ring.

Round 1: Sl st in loop (ring); Ch4, DC in loop (makes 1 V-stitch); 5 V-stitch in loop; slip stitch to join in 3rd chain of beginning chain 4 group (total of 6 V-stitches).

Round 2: Sl st in 1st V-stitch; Ch 3, 4DC in stitch; 5DC in each V-stitch around. Sl st to join in 3rd chain of beginning chain 3 group (6 5DC groups; 30 DC).

Round 3: **Ch 2. YO, insert hook in same stitch as join, YO and pull through, *YO, insert hook in next DC, YO and pull through, YO and pull through 2 loops on hook*; repeat *to* 5 times. YO, pull through 2 loops on hook and repeat until only one loop remains on hook. SC in each space between each stitch, in side of 5th stitch (see photo 1), and in the first DC of next 5 DC group)**. Repeat from ** to ** for each 5DC group ending with a slip stitch in sl st from previous row. Bind off and weave in ends.
